ACO RESULTS

ACO WAS AMAZING!!

ACO results are up sorted by last name.
ACO RESULTS

Thanks to all the athletes, sponsors/vendors, friends, family, and especially the judges and volunteers that made this event possible. The amount of unity our gym underwent to get this event off the ground was unbelievable. The volunteers and judges worked long hours and cold conditions, sacrificing their entire weekend for our event. That's love folks. Still can't believe the unconditional love our little humble community shares!

All our athletes did AMAZING!! Special note that Dee and Randy took 2nd and 3rd respectively in the over 40 divisions! Also, our long time CFDC family member Neal Riley finished 3rd overall in the Men's open division.

Also, the class act of the day, Bryce Collier posted a staggering 2:14 Fran time.  He then took his 1000 dollar prize, gave $300 to Greg Jones of the West Dallas School, and $200 to Carey Kepler who posted the fasted women's time with 2:59.  Keep it classy San Diego.  This is what it means to be part of a community of love and support.

Official results will be posted tomorrow but for now, congrats to the following podium athletes:

hotels around CFDC and the WDCS

Here are some maps showing some accommodations near our gym, Crossfit Dallas Central, and also near the West Dallas Community School. Keep in mind that we are hosting the awards ceremony and after party at our gym, so although it may be a drive to get out to the WDCS the morning of the event, it may be easier to get back to your hotel after the party if you book a hotel closer to the gym.

ACO 2010 Venue: The West Dallas Community School

West Dallas Community School x Crossfit Dallas Central = All-Cities Open from dean xu on Vimeo.

We are proud to announce our host for the 2010 All-Cities Open competition; the West Dallas Community School.   Our decision to partner with the West Dallas Community School was formed out of love and a commitment to our community and to help gather much needed support and attention to the youth in this underprivileged area of West Dallas.

The West Dallas Community School:

West Dallas Community School was founded in 1995 by Carole and Norm Sonju (co-founder and retired president/general manager, Dallas Mavericks), Eletha and Arrvel Wilson (president, West Dallas Initiative), and Robin and Michael Lewis.

In the heart of West Dallas, the campus serves an area where the median household income in the area surrounding the school is less than $8500 annually with 74% living below poverty level. 97% of the population in West Dallas is minority with many of its children living in an environment of illiteracy, drugs, crime, teen pregnancy, and violence.  Furthermore, 66% of West Dallas residents ages 25 years or older lack a high school diploma compared to 20% nationally (2000 U.S. Census).

The West Dallas Community School accepts students from pre-Ktex through 8th grade where the curriculum includes classic literature, history, Spanish, fine arts, nature studies and traditional subjects with a strong emphasis on language, phonics, and mathematics.  Tuition is based on each family's ability to pay, with some paying as little as $55/month.  92% of the school's annual budget ($2.5 million for 2009-2010) is comprised of donations from individuals, corporations and foundations, with the remaining 8% from tuition.

This year, we plan to donate a sizeable portion of all proceeds to the West Dallas Community School scholarship fund, so that future students may be able to attend this prestigious school without a financial challenge.  For sponsorship/donations opportunities, please visit our SPONSORSHIP page.
